Pls practice on the usage of your scientific calculator for linear equation....the guide is as mentioned in Page 27 here
As for the individual assignment for next week (week 3); your task are:
1) Get 1 published paper in Finite Element Analysis..(simulation based)
2) Get a highlighter pen and answer these questions;
a) Define the geometric domain of the problem
b) Define the element type(s) used
c) Define the material properties of the elements
d) Define the geometric properties of the elements (length,area and the like...)
e) Define the physical constraints (boundary conditions)
f) Define the loading conditions
g) Define the result condition or attributes
Pls put all your answer in 1 page and put reference (page number, line paragraph) so that i can check the level of your knowledge after our recent sessions. Deadline 28/09/2012 at 1200H to Pn Haiza at FKJ office.

The tutorial for MSC PATRAN and NASTRAN
Dear Students,
Sorry but i forgot bout this tutorials. You can download the file here
For tutorial no 1, the analysis of the strut component, pls used this parasolid file
Remember, when you arrive at the analysis part, pls use "analyze deck" function and not "entire run" function.
Find the .bdf file and run it using MSC Nastran program. Then search for the .xdb file and read the file from there on.
